Final Night in Venice

By Sunday night, we are both getting very fatigued from our trip which has involved 5 cities in a week.

Regardless, we were resolved to get some local cuisine for dinner vs. more German food in Italy. We ended up cruising down the Grand Canal and got away from the touristy area and had some pizza and beer at a trattoria on the water. The pizza was good, but I think America has the pizza market in their pocket.

For dessert, we went back to St. Mark's Square to check out the dueling orchestras and get some gelato. Every night, the restaurants on the square put out tables and chairs and have a small orchestra play music while you have drinks. A cappuccino is about $13. Instead of paying ridiculous prices, you can do what we and many people did, stand just outside the table area with a gelato and listen for a song or two. (see the video link)
