Versailles Visit

Tuesday morning we headed over to Versailles to tour the Palace of Louis XIV.  It is about a 30 minute train ride out of central Paris.

Versailles is huge, the Palace is the size of a large shopping mall and the grounds are several square miles.  When we got there at 10am, there had to be 1,000-2,000 people waiting to get into the Palace for the tour.  So we decided to tour the gardens and "backyard" of Versailles first and then go in palace after lunch.

As we made our way through some of the garden mazes, we stumbled on a small cafe and Sarah was able to get some french onion soup and a beer.  While we are in France, Sarah has said that all of the French onion soup is not as good as Vicki's back home.  C'est Bon!

I went with french fries and red wine - mostly because I can order that in French.  After seeing Sarah's cold beer, I realized what a horrific mistake I made and I have vowed to order beer and french fries on the next occasion.
