The Garden State

When you say New Jersey to many people who do not live here, often images of the NJ Turnpike enter the imagination. Kind of like to opening montage to the Sopranos TV show.

However, if you know where to look and where to go, NJ offers up some pretty nice places.

This river spot is 15 minutes from my house and extremely secluded and a favorite of the local trout fisherman. It is also a great spot to take a 1-2 hour mini-vacation from work, or in Heather's case - school.

Next time we will bring our fishing poles.

Baby Ruth

Here is Heather in her second at bat in her first game this past Wednesday night.

After her first at bat, she was a little more confident and pointed to the outfield before she took her swing. In this case, positive thinking on her part, did not yield a positive outcome as she hit the ball to the pitcher and ran to third base.

Visit to Reino's

I opened up a Chinese cookie left over from last night. It said "Have a beautiful day."

It is 65 and sunny, so far so good. So rather than sit at my desk an catch up on e-mail, Sarah and I have been tooling around town and stopped by Reino's for a quick visit.

Luckily, Reino had just gotten home from work and had some cold ones in the fridge. Sarah was able to enjoy Reino's old man bike up and down the driveway.

Farewell to Vicki's BMW

Vicki dropped off her BMW X5 today as her lease was up. Her new ride is a Chrysler Town & Country minivan.

The minivan is very nice and has lots of cool features. I am going to get a magnetic soccer ball to put on the back so that she can claim official status as a Soccer Mom.

Ice Cream with the Girls

I have not posted in a while. After I picked up Sarah and Heather from school today, we headed down to the ice cream shop for a couple of sundae's. Only $8.39 for a kids size and a small. I am sensing some inflation in the market.

Tonight Heather has her second softball game. I don't think she gets the rules yet. In the first game she ran from third base, rounded home and stopped at first base. Hopefully tonight things improve.
